You can also purchase weekly or monthly tickets to customise your preferences on travelling with First.

First (Kernow) recommend trying to sit away from others – households & bubbles can sit together. Try and keep windows open for better ventilation & wear a face covering.

First Bus Kernow operates buses in Cornwall, including the bus services U1, U2, U3 and U4. It’s possible to pay via contactless individual journeys, but if you’re travelling regularly you can save money by using the journey bundles available in the First App. More information is available in the First Price and Ticket Guide.(link is external)

The U1 travels between Truro and Falmouth via Penryn. The U2 travels between Redruth and Falmouth via Penryn. The U3 is an express service from Falmouth Campus and The Moor to the Penryn Campus (it does not travel via Penryn) and runs every 15 minutes during term times. The U4 goes between the Penryn Campus and Penzance.

Please note that buses are running at 50% capacity now to meet social distancing rules and government guidelines. Additional bus services have been added between Falmouth and Penryn Campus during peak times.

What if you live in remote areas where First Bus do not operate?

The red bus (Go Cornwall Bus) are a new operator in Cornwall running the subsidized (remote location) bus lines and may provide the service you need. I you live in remote locations where First Bus do note operate, you will have to consider planning your journey with more than one travel operator. Historically, First Bus ran both the commercial and subsidized bus routes which meant an all-day ticket pass would cover your entire journey.
