Bus Travel

First Bus (Kernow) run the main routes between the main locations across Cornwall. We recommend downloading the First Bus app where you can get access to bus times, live bus arrival updates to avoid waiting times, space availability on buses and discounts. You can also purchase weekly or monthly tickets to customise your preferences on traveling with First.

By purchasing the monthly Falmouth-Penryn Kernow Unlimited bundle tickets, or the Cornwall Kernow Unlimited bundle (Cornwall wide) you can save more than £200 per year. Payments are taken by direct debit and your ticket will automatically activate on your chosen renewal date.

First Bus Kernow operate the main bus lines which include U1, U2, U3 and U4. It is possible to pay contactless now for individual and return journeys but it is recommended to download the bundles.

The U1 travels between Truro and Falmouth via Penryn. The U2 travels between Redruth and Falmouth via Penryn. The U3 is an express service from Falmouth Campus and the Moor to the Penryn Campus (it does not travel via Penryn) and runs every 15 minutes during term times. The U4 goes between the Penryn Campus and Penzance.

Bus fares will also be changing after December 2024 due to government funding, please view the Transport for Cornwall Fare Change Table for more information on bus prices.

Any ticket any bus! You are now able to use your bus ticket on any Cornwall by Kernow or Go Cornwall bus including services operated by Stagecoach, Hopleys, OTS and Travel Cornwall. This means that whether you have a return, day, weekly or monthly ticket, you will be able to use any bus regardless of who operates it an no additional cost.
