Service Status & Opening Times

The AMATA lift is temporarily out of service and there is reduced access to the second floor of AMATA by recording studios. Signs have been put in place and our external contractors have been notified to fix the issue. Please follow the signs and use the alternative route.

The Reprographics building is due to be demolished and removed between Monday 14 April and Friday 18 April. Please be aware of the following:

• Potential noise volumes generated from mechanical demolition.
• Delivery and Removal of skips may cause some congestion on the entrance road down to Glasney.
• Heras Fencing will be in place around the perimeter of the building to maintain a safe distance.
• Large excavator in use which also may generate noise.

Due to construction works at Camborne School of Mines, a section of Car Park E (a total of 10 spaces next to the boulders) will be cordoned off and unavailable until the project’s expected completion date, which has been extended to mid-end April 2025.

Works are progressing at the CSM, on the two construction projects, part-funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund*.

The CSM Museum entrance remains open, although access to affected lab spaces and other areas will be restricted while refurbishment work takes place.  

The building compound has been installed near to the Deep Digital Cornwall entrance in car park E, on the site of the old disabled parking bays. Please note, that the (unused) disabled parking bays within Carpark E will be out of use entirely for the duration of the project, for a period of three months until the project’s expected completion date, which has been extended to mid-end April 2025.

Whilst we are working to replace our boilers with air source heat pumps in the SERFS and Stella Turk Buildings, the SERFS loading bay is to be used as the site compound for a period of two months, from Monday 10 March to Friday 9 May 2025. As part of this, there will be no vehicular or pedestrian access on Wednesday 12 and Thursday 13 March 2025 to allow for crane lifting materials on to the roof of Stella Turk and SERFS. Any deliveries/collections and emergency vehicle access will be managed by ZLC, the contractor.

Whilst we are working to replace our boilers with air source heat pumps in the SERFS and Stella Turk Buildings, it is necessary to close part of carpark J for material storage, for a period of two months. During this time, please use an alternative area of the car park.

External cleaning of the ESI building, including walls, windows and surrounding paved areas will be taking place from Monday 14 to Friday 18 April. Areas will be coned off, restricting access as the FX Plus team moves around the building. A cherry picker and pressure washers will be used, and a moderate level of noise in the areas where they are working is to be expected.  

For part of the work, the cherry picker will be on the road, and this will be segregated with barriers to ensure safety. Some routes will be closed off and signage will be in place to guide people around safely. These alternative routes will change as the team progresses with the cleaning.

Work on the Exchange Courtyard Automatic doors will take place between Monday 14 and Wednesday 16 April. The work will only take a few hours per door, but the exact timings of this have not yet been confirmed by our contractors. A diversion route will be in place which goes through the rooms next to the doors being worked on.

A total of six rooms in the Exchange Courtyard will be unavailable for bookings as they will be undergoing redecoration. The room numbers affected are: 2, 3, 10, 11, 13 & 15.

There will be some noise disruption in the Falmouth Campus Library on Thursday 17 April. This will be due to works that will be taking place throughout the day to install upgraded intruder alarms in certain areas. The works is estimated to complete at around 17:00pm.

Essential maintenance is required as part of the IT Network Refresh cycle to replace end of life infrastructure across the campuses. The wired and wireless network (including wi-fi, phones, printers and tills) will be unavailable for up to 30 minutes across the below locations.  

If you are based in any of these locations, you may wish to use a workspace in another area on our campuses during the change window, or work from home.

FX Plus have a requirement to deliver statutory maintenance to High Voltage Equipment which will cause some power disruptions across Penryn campus. This work will be taking place on Friday 18 April, for approximately 4 hours between 8:30am and 12:30pm, over the Easter bank holiday period.

1. Maintain the Data Centre & Daphne Du Maurier (West) HV Equipment – Approximately 4 Hrs duration Friday Morning 8:30am – 12:30pm
   o *During these checks the Data Centre will be maintained via back-up power generation.
   o *Daphne Du Maurier (West) will be maintained via back up power generation, however there may be a requirement to load shed some circuits.

*Note There will be a short power outage when switching over to back-up generation and then returning to mains power. This will impact all areas without Uninterruptible Power Systems (UPS) services.

FX Plus IT services are assisting with the planning due to the locations affected.

Penryn Campus testing: Fridays 7:30am to 9:00am.
The bell will sound for a few seconds so please take no action and do not evacuate the building at this signal. If you cannot hear the alarm in your area, please inform Safety and Support on 01326 255875. Should the bell continue to sound, please assume it is a real alarm and evacuate accordingly. Please obey alarms at all other times.
