Summer on Campus

Over the summer, when students leave campus, some FX Plus services switch to operating a reduced service and opening times. These will revert back to their usual opening times when the new term starts. You can find a summary of the changes below:

Student and Academic Support

Wellbeing

  • The Wellbeing Team are available as normal, excluding the Bank Holidays (Mon 25 May & 31 August 2026). 
  • If you need help during the closure period, you can visit the need help now page or contact our out of hours team in Glasney Lodge.

Library and Student Helpdesks 

Falmouth Campus Library

Opening times will be:

  • Open weekdays 9am-5pm only – Student Helpdesk and Library support will available during these hours.
  • Closed in the evenings and on weekends throughout the summer break.
  • The Library will be closed on Bank Holiday Monday 31 August.
  • Usual term time hours resume at the beginning of the new academic year.

Penryn Campus Library

  • Open 24/7 throughout summer break.
  • The Student Helpdesk and Library support will be available 9am-5pm on weekdays. Outside of these hours it will be open for self-service.
  • Weekends will be self-service only.
  • Open for self-service only on Bank Holiday Monday 31 August.
  • Usual term time hours resume at the beginning of the new academic year.

Multifaith Chaplaincy

The summer opening hours for Multifaith Chaplaincy services are as follows: 

  • The Chaplaincy room in Fox Building on Falmouth Campus will be open in line with the building opening times, 9am – 6:30pm, Monday to Friday.
  • Penryn Chaplaincy will remain open 9am – 5pm, Monday to Friday, including Bank Holiday Monday 31 August. While there will be a reduced presence of chaplains, as most will take a well-earned break until September, Mary will continue to come in most Thursdays. Students and staff are welcome to use the space and make themselves at home with a cup of tea or coffee.  
  • The Muslim prayer room on the Penryn campus remains open 24/7 throughout the summer to staff and students (via student/staff ID card), including Bank Holidays.

  • Open 8am – 4pm Monday to Friday

Falmouth Campus Art Shop

  • Open 10am – 3pm Tuesday and Thursday
  • CLOSED Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday

Amata Cafe

  • Open 9am – 4.30-pm Monday to Friday

ESI Cafe

  • Open 10am – 2pm Monday to Friday

Koofi

  • Open 9am – 5pm Monday to Friday

Stannary Bar

  • CLOSED

Stannary Deli Bar

  • CLOSED

Stannary Kitchen

  • Open 8am – 2.30pm Monday to Friday

Sustainability Cafe

  • Open 8am – 4pm Monday to Friday

Penryn Campus Shop

  • Open 9am – 5pm Monday to Friday

All the food and retail outlets will close for the Summer Bank Holiday on Monday 31 August.

Facilities and Services

IT Service Desk & Estates Helpdesk

Our helpdesks remain open throughout summer operating usual opening hours (8:45am – 5:15pm) but will close for the Bank Holidays (Monday 25 May & Monday 31 August 2025). 

Sports Centre

The Sports Centre’s opening hours remain the same throughout the summer, with the exception of the Bank Holidays, where will operate reduced hours:

  • Monday 25 May – 9am-6pm
  • Monday 31 August – 9am-6pm
