Once you have accepted your accommodation offer you’ll be thinking about moving in and on this page you’ll find information about the arrivals process. Each of our residences will have different arrival days and times available.
Accommodation Induction
Students living at Glasney Student Village, Packsaddle Hill and Tuke House will need to complete the online accommodation induction before moving in. The induction includes important information about your residence, health and safety during your stay and the support services available to you. It is compulsory and must be completed before you can pick up your keys.
A link to the induction will be sent later in the Summer to students who have accepted their offer of accommodation. Once you have completed the induction you will be asked to book an arrival date and time slot. You must book a date and time to arrive at your residence in advance; numbers are limited per time slot so please ensure you complete your induction and book your arrival as soon as you receive the email. If you find the time slot you wish to book is full, please choose the next available option.

Arriving from Overseas
For students travelling from outside of the UK we offer Collection Services from two UK locations. Further information and online bookings can be made at the links below:
Arriving Early or Late
Unfortunately we are unable to facilitate any arrivals earlier than the dates offered. Students are able to arrive later than the scheduled dates however the contract start date will still apply and students will be charged from the date stated on their formal contract. Please refer to the instructions on the induction e-mail for how to let the Accommodation Office know if you are expecting to arrive outside of the arrival weekend. We can then ensure your keys are available for you to collect.
If you are not living at Glasney Student Village, Packsaddle Hill or Tuke House, please contact the management team for the residence you are moving onto for further guidance.
Parking
Glasney Student Village
Free parking will be available during the arrival dates and times. Normal parking charges will apply outside of these dates in line with our pay as you leave system. You can find out more about how this works, including hourly charges, on our Travel and Transport pages.
Once you have checked in and collected your keys you will be given an unload permit which will allow you to park your car at a designated area within the Glasney Student Village. When you collect you key you will be advised on the maximum unloading time as this will vary depending on when you arrive. Saturday is our busiest day and unloading time is usually restricted to 15 minutes to keep the traffic moving. Once you have unloaded your it will need to be moved back to the main car park. If you have two cars with you to unload you will only be permitted to take one car down at a time and you will only be able to take your car into Glasney Student Village once for unloading. If you need to visit the shops to get groceries we advise that you do this before arrival or park at the main car park and walk your shopping down as we don’t allow second trips to unload shopping.
Allowances are made for Blue Badge holders.
Packsaddle Hill
At Packsaddle Hill there is no parking so after your belongings have been dropped off cars will need to be parked on campus.
Off-Site Halls of Residence
Parking at the majority of the offsite halls will be in pay and display car parks.
We don’t recommend bringing a car to Penryn Campus for the academic year except for special circumstances, e.g. blue badge holders, as there is no parking available on campus, including Glasney Student Village. There is also no parking available at The Sidings except for unloading.
There are great transport links with buses and trains to get you around the local area and further afield. You can securely store bikes at points all around the campus and there is bike storage at The Sidings. More information about this and the car parking policy in general can be found on the Travel and Transport pages. The campus facilities map shows walking routes onto campus and bike storage points.
Deliveries
We advise booking supermarket deliveries outside of the arrival times. During the arrivals weekend delivery vans will not be permitted entry to the residences.
Guests
We are unable to allow any guests in residences for the first two weeks. If parents, relatives or friends are accompanying you they will need to book accommodation elsewhere. Falmouth and Penryn has lots of hotels, guest houses, B&Bs and hostels and many advertise via VisitFalmouth.com (External link). After the first two weeks all guests must be signed in at Glasney Lodge for a maximum of 3 nights, anything longer will need to be authorised by the Accommodation Services Manager.
What To Bring
When packing for your move in we would advise to travel light, especially if you are sharing a room!
You will need to bring your own bedding (including duvet and pillows), towels, cookware, cooking utensils, crockery, cutlery and personal items. It is important that you check your offer to confirm your bed size before buying bedding as we can’t change your bed type if you buy the wrong bedding.
Standard items vary in each residence, and some also have different bed sizes. Please check your accommodation offer for further information. We would suggest that you wait until you arrive to buy general cleaning equipment or shared kitchen items; you can then share the cost with your fellow residents and you won’t end up with several sets of saucepans! There is a large supermarket within walking distance that sells kitchen items, bedding etc.
Bedding and Kitchen Starter Packs
You can order bedding and kitchen equipment from UniKitOut (External Link), reducing the number of items you need to bring with you. These will be sent to your residence in time for your arrival.
Use discount code FXPlus10 for 10% off all orders

Fill in your details, including your name and student ID
Add your delivery address. You will need to select ‘Falmouth Exeter Student’. ‘Glasney Lodge’ is the default delivery address, but you can type in a different address if you live off campus.

What Not to Bring
Do not bring chip pans, deep fat fryers, candles or incense sticks, portable heaters or any other items which could potentially cause a fire hazard.
Air fryers are allowed but should be kept in the Kitchen.
Please read your contract, residence handbook for rules and regulations on prohibited items. Prohibited items may be confiscated and returned to you at the end of your accommodation agreement.
