Disruptions

Ongoing Works in the Walled Garden, Penryn Campus – Monday 10 November 2025 to Friday 23 January 2026

From Monday 10 November 2025 to Friday 23 January 2026, the Walled Garden, Penryn Campus, will be partially closed to carry out necessary work to the masonry wall. There will be no access to the area where the works are being carried out to demolish/rebuild the wall nearest to the greenhouse, it will be fenced off out of hours for health and safety reasons.

On Wednesday 3 December to Friday 5 December 2025, the Walled Garden will be CLOSED entirely, whilst new bricks are being brought onto site to build the retaining wall. There will be no access to the garden during this time. We apologise for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience whist the work takes place.

Refurbishment of Tremough House Exec Suite Toilets, Penryn Campus – Monday 10 November to Friday 19 December 2025

Refurbishment works will be carried out to the male and female toilet facilities located in the Exec suite area off the courtyard at Tremough House. The work will will take place between Monday 10 November to Friday 19 December. During this time, both the male and female toilets will be closed while the works take place. 

Alternative toilets are available in the main Tremough House building:  

  • Ground floor: Accessible WC 
  • First floor: Male & Female toilets 

(Please follow on-site signage) 

  • Our contractors will access via the emergency route beside the male toilets. This route will be restricted to emergency use only
  • The stone stairs outside the emergency access will be closed during working hours
  • Expect noise disruption during working hours. Efforts will be made to minimise inconvenience. 
  • Contractor vehicles and a skip will be positioned near the entrance.

Network maintenance – Tuesday 9 December, 6:00am – 8:00am

Essential network maintenance is required to replace end of life infrastructure. This work is planned between 6:00am and 8:00am on Tuesday 9 December impacting the network across the Penryn and Falmouth campuses. 

On campus impact, there will be no access to the below: 

  • Internet access (wired, wireless and VPN) across Falmouth and Penryn campuses, including Glasney Student Village, Tuke House and Tremough Barton Cottages. 
  • IT Suites 
  • Guest wi-fi. 
  • Phones (including KSPA). 
  • Printing services. 
  • Sports Centre bookings. 

Mitigation Options: 

Falmouth / FXPlus / SU: Cloud services i.e. M365 including Teams, OneDrive and Outlook can be accessed via your mobile data if based on site. 

  • If based at home, VPN will be unavailable, however Cloud services i.e. M365 including, Teams, OneDrive and Outlook will still be accessible. 

University of Exeter: For internet access during this change window, please connect to wi-fi using Eduroam or UoE Secure. 

Should urgent assistance be required during this maintenance window:

  • SafeZone can be accessed via mobile data during this change window.  
  • Head to the Glasney Lodge. 

An update will be circulated when work has been completed, and the services are fully operational.

Fire Alarm Testing at Falmouth and Penryn Campuses

Penryn Campus testing: Fridays 7:30am to 9:00am.
The bell will sound for a few seconds so please take no action and do not evacuate the building at this signal. If you cannot hear the alarm in your area, please inform Safety and Support on 01326 255875. Should the bell continue to sound, please assume it is a real alarm and evacuate accordingly. Please obey alarms at all other times.
Falmouth Campus testing: Fridays from 3:00pm.
