Travel and the local area

The universities’ focus on green travel makes getting around easy. Buses run regularly between the Falmouth and Penryn campuses. Both campuses have secure bike storage facilities and free showers for cyclists.

With the bus journey taking from 15-20 minutes between Falmouth and Penryn you really can enjoy what both areas have to offer regardless of where you live. For essential groceries, there’s a range of major supermarkets in both locations and you’ll find smaller shops in both towns. For high street brands, Truro, Cornwall’s capital, is only a 15 minute train ride away.

The decision on where you would like to live is a personal one. Falmouth is a bigger and busier town than Penryn with easy access to beaches, shops, a cinema and walking distance to Falmouth Campus. However if you prefer to be closer to Penryn Campus you are only a short journey away at either location.
